About Stu Robinson

Captain Stu;
I started serious sailing in 1962 at age 12.  In that year our family moved aboard a 42 foot sailboat and we sailed the gulf coast.  I have continued knocking around the water, diving, surfing, sailing, racing and living aboard boats.  I have an extensive collection of sailing trophies in both dinghies and offshore work. I have lived about 12 years aboard boats of which four years were in the West Indies.  I have navigated the St. Lawrence Seaway, as far east as Bermuda and as far south as Trinidad.  I have seen 30 foot tides, 8 knot currents, on boats struck by lightning, chased out of the water by sharks and in 1991 got caught in hurricane Grace aka Perfect Storm. For more info, see my old web page....

Currently I live in Paducah KY. taking care of my mother. My mother is wonderful and is doing well at 85. This area is the sailing capital of KY and reminds me of a miniature Chesapeake Bay. This is a major river exchange with the Misssissippi, Ohio, Tennessee and Cumberland rivers. Many boats from the Great Lakes transient on the way to the gulf. Kentucky Lake is a large and a very long lake which one can sail for many many miles. Mom came down to the boat to look things over. She liked the boat and all the room. My brother Burr and his wife Joyce visited mom on her birthday. Mom showed off the boat to them.
