Education & Work:
Graduated
from USF in 1973 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Went to work for
Worthington Pump Company as a pump engineer for 7 years and then went into the
pump distribution business with a father and son team in Lakeland, Florida.
Found out blood was thicker than water and cashed in my chips after 11 years.
Went to work for a couple other pump companies after that and in 2002
established my Engineering Consulting Business DBA “Pump Consulting &
Training, LLC”. Since 2002 I have been offering consulting services for pumps
as well as other mechanical equipment to large consulting engineering firms and
industrial clients. Also have been conducting pump seminars traveling around
the USA for a client in Denver, CO.
Personal:
Married
in 1976 to a girl I met @ USF. We are still married living in Lakeland where
we have established roots and raised our two children. We have a daughter,
Katie, who graduated from USF in 2004 and is now 26. She lives in the St. Pete
area and works as the Marketing Director for Bay Area Remodelers. Our son,
Stephen, is 23 and is a senior in Mechanical Engineering @ USF. Both our kids
also graduated from LHS; Polk county version that is, as in Lakeland High
School.

I attended George
Washinton University in Washington D.C., and Seton Hall University School of
Law in Newark, NJ. I graduate as valedictorian of the Law School and am
admitted to the Bar in New Jersey and Florida.
My
work career was spent primarily in the Insurance field, where I became
President & Chief Operating Officer of Continental Corporation in New York
City, and President & CEO of CNA Financial's Diversified Operations
division in Chicago.
Today,
I am semi-retired and live in St. Petersburg with my family, I sit on a number
of Corporate Boards, and am very active in the non-profit arena, both in
Florida and elsewhere in the United States.
I
have been fortunate to travel extensively for buisness and pleasure, and have
been happily married to Gary Tocklin for 34 years.

My Life Since Graduation
Tell us about yourself in 3300 words or
less. Please attach photos with your profile.
My life since graduation,
in one word, could be summed up as busy! I have been blessed these past forty
years to have time to spend with my family and friends.
In June of 1972, I graduated from
U.S.F. with a B.A. in Elementary Education. I’ve spent 25 years teaching
children in kindergarten, first and second grade. My teaching days are never
dull, always very busy and mostly enjoyable.
In July of 1974, I married my best
friend, Howard (Robby) Robinson of Largo at the First Baptist Church. This
July we celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary. We lived in Largo
until 1982 when we decided to move to Brooksville, FL. There we enjoyed
country living. Robby continued to drive to Tampa to work.
Robby and I have three terrific sons,
Ryan (31), Lance (29), and Benjamin (22). Our boys kept us very busy during
those school years. Robby and I attended 23 years of baseball and basketball
games and a few years of swim meets, golf matches and soccer games. When we
first married, I never imagined I would become a busy sports mom! I did learn
a lot of baseball strategy, but I refused to learn to “keep the book”. I am
proud to say all three of our boys graduated from college. Ben was the third
and last to graduate this year. We also have two beautiful daughters-in-law,
Tricia and Dana. Our oldest son, Ryan, and his wife, Tricia, have two precious
daughters, Reigan (5), and Rylynn (1). Wow, being a grandmother is awesome!
Robby and I spend many busy hours with them and love it.
I have also been busy with church
activities. Robby and I were AWANA leaders for ten years when our boys were
young. We are still busy with other church activities.
One of my hobbies is country line
dancing. Robby and I have attended a weekly class for six years. Dancing
keeps me busy and I get exercise too!
Robby and I have spent many hours
boating and fishing with our boys over the years. In May, Robby and I moved to
Crystal River, FL. We moved close to the river and love the area. Our kids
and their families live in FL. Frequently they come for weekend visits that
keep me busy cooking and having fun with them.
Robby and I are still working. So we
keep busy commuting to Brooksville and Tampa to work. Hopefully, in a few
years we will retire and get really busy watching my granddaughters in their
dance recitals and softball games!

Tell us about yourself in 3300 words or
less. Please attach photos with your profile.
After I graduated from Largo (where
I played in the very first year of the Band of Gold), I attended SPJC. I met
& married the Debate Coach at the Jr. College, Frank Natter (my one and
only true love) in March of 1970. In June I graduated from the Jr. College and
Frank & I moved to AlumniVillage at FSU to continue our education. Frank went to LawSchool and I
majored in Elementary Education.
I received my degree from
FSU in August 1971 and began teaching at SealeyElementary
School in Tally. In April 1973 I had
our only daughter, Debbie. In June 1974 I had our first son, David. I went
back to teaching in 1976 but ended up having our 2nd son, Robbie, in
November 1977. We couldn’t afford childcare for 3 so I kept other babies in my
home. In August of 1979 I had our 3rd son, Michael.
During this time, Frank
graduated from LawSchool and continued teaching at the University.
Eventually, he set up his own law office.
In 1982, Frank & I and
the 4 kids moved back to the Clearwater area where Frank continued his practice of law. All
went well until 1989 when we were rear ended by a produce truck. Frank
suffered severe injuries and we had to close his law practice. After several
years I went to work for Morton Plant Hospital Foundation. I was there for 9
years and decided I needed a change of scenery so I went to work for the State
of Florida, Agency for Health Care (AHCA). I work in the legal department which
is located in St. Petersburg. We bring the charges against the facilities that
are not following the codes.
I also have my own business
on Ebay where I sell sewing patterns, fabrics, books, and other mostly sewing
related items. I started out back in 2003 just trying to thin out my stash of
sewing patterns and now it is so big I have a full-time employee who helps me
with the shipping. One of my stores is “The Pattern Goddess” and the other one
is “Impact Communication” (which I am revamping right now). This along with my
full time State job keeps me really busy!
My 4 kids are my pride and
joy! As children they were performers. They competed in Dance competitions
all over the United States and toured & performed in Copenhaven, Moscow, Leningrad,
and other countries. They also did a lot of musical theater.
My oldest child Debbie, (35
& unmarried) obtained her law degree from FSU and is an attorney for the
law firm of Swope & Rodante in YborCity.
My son David (34 &
engaged) attended CornellUniversity and then obtained his law degree from NYU. He is a
securities attorney for the firm of Thacher Proffitt & Wood LLP. They were
located in the WorldTradeCenter. Their firm is now in the WorldFinancialCenter across the street. David is planning to marry Susie Lim, in Central Park
in October of this year.
My son Rob, (31 &
married) attended CornellUniversity and then obtained his law degree from NYU. He is
Senior Counsel, Business and Legal Affairs, VH1/MTV Networks in Los Angeles.
He and his wife, Erin Ayala, (also an attorney) live in Beverly Hills.
They just married last November in Hawaii!
My youngest son, Michael,
(30 & unmarried) attended CornellUniversity and decided to live, teach, audition, design web
sites, and any other odd job he could get in NYC. He has his own business now
and is basically considered a Digital Consultant with many stars and production
companies as his clients.
Frank & I have been
married for 38 years now and are looking forward to the next segment of this
thing called “Life.” I am hoping we eventually are blessed with time and money
to travel and some grandkids to spoil!

After graduation from Largo High I got my AA Degree from St.
Petersburg Junior College and my BA Degree from the University of South
Florida. Shortly after graduation from USF I went to work for Honeywell and
moved to South Carolina. My next 18 plus years were spent working for Honeywell
in Greenville, SC., Atlanta, Ga. , Jacksonville, FL., and Columbian, SC. In
1990 I changed companies and worked briefly in Greensboro, NC. In 1992 I moved
bank to the Bay Area and have continued working in the Building Control Systems
business. At the present I work with a partner in our own business in Tampa.
My eyes are now focused on slowing down and retirement in the next five years.
My personal life has been good as well. After my
first marriage ended in divorce, I found a wonderful woman, Tamara. We have
been married for nine years and have grown accustomed to being empty nesters.
That gives us the freedom to travel and o tings that are important to both of
us.
I have 2 sons and Tamara has a daughter and son.
Between us we have four grandchildren. All of our children and grandchildren
live in Pinellas County so we get to see them
quite often.

My
husband, Ned and I currently live in Abingdon, MD where we both work for the
U.S. Army at the Aberdeen Proving Ground. I do computer graphics for the
Commanding General and Ned, after retiring from the U.S. Coast Guard where he
was a Search and Rescue Pilot, became a Civil Servant and is the Director of
the U.S. Army Software Center.
We
have been truly blessed with a combined family of three daughters and five
grandchildren. Sherri (Jeremy) lives in Columbus, GA with the two youngest
grandchildren, Tyler, age 9 and Ayden, age 4. Deb (Tom) and Michelle (Jeff)
live in Tarpon Spring, as do three of the grandchildren, Katie, age 13; Brian,
age 11 and Brendan, age 11.
We
love to boat, kayak, ski (snow and water - he's good….I'm terrible), golf (again,
he's good….I'm terrible) and play on our jet ski's. We have been very
fortunate to have lived and traveled around the world. We spend as much time
as possible with our children and grandchildren. Ned's favorite ski buddy is
Tyler. We started him skiing 5 years ago at the age of 4 and he is now a much
better skier than I am. This past winter was the first time we've taken Ayden,
who was only 3 1/2. By the end of her private lesson on the first day she was
skiing from the top down. At that age they have no fear and a very low center
of gravity!
Over
the past several years we have lived in Australia and Denmark. We loved both
and if it weren’t for kids and grandkids we would still be in Australia or New
Zealand.
If
ever any of you are in the Baltimore area please contact us, we would love to
get together.
Attached
are several photos of us and our grandchildren. |

I am a "real"
Floridian. I was born at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater in 1950 and lived
in Largo most of my younger years. My life has been varied and my pre Foreign
Service life included sewing tobacco leaves in Connecticut during the summer
months when we were out of school and a long stint as a telephone operator for
GTE in Clearwater and several years at Honeywell on U.S. 19. I was married
1969 and divorced in 1985. I have three great kids that I'm very proud of. I
joined the Foreign Service in August 1987 and it been a perfect fit for me. I
absoluted love being able to travel and Kosovo is my 13th posting in the last
21 years. I have been posted to Buenos Aires, Argentina; Tegucigalpa,
Honduras; Mexico City, Mexico; Bucharest, Romania (my first posting an an
Ambassador's Office Manager); Bonn, Germany; Sarajevo, Bosnia (just after the
war ended); Bogota, Colombia; Warsaw, Poland, back to Sarajevo, Bosnia for another
tour; a short tour at the National Security Council in Washington, DC; Prague,
Czech Republic; Baghdad, Iraq; and finally to Pristina, Kosovo where I will
remain until summer of 2009. I will take another assignment over next summer
-- my life is just too much fun to retire :-) .
All
the best to everyone, Connie Ennis Parish

It’s
amazing how quickly time has passed. I can’t believe it has been 40 years
since high school graduation. After high school, I attended St. Petersburg
Junior College in Clearwater. Then, in 1970, on to the University of South
Florida in Tampa where I graduated in 1972 with a teaching degree. I obtained
my first teaching position that year at Mildred Helms Elementary in the 6th grade. The following year all 6th grades were moved into middle
schools. As a result, I ended up at Largo Middle School until 1980 when I
chose to return to Mildred Helms Elementary, which I also attended as a child.
So you can say that I went full circle. I taught there until I retired in 2002
after 30 years.
My
passion is playing golf. I am in 2 golf leagues. One is a women’s league and
the other is a mixed league, which I play in with my husband. Luckily, I am
married to a golf nut like myself. I have 2 step-daughters and one step-grandson.
After I retired, I was finally able to get a dog. She is an energetic West
Highland White Terrier. My husband and I live in Largo. I am enjoying my
retirement with my family and friends.

Tell us about yourself (in 3300 words or
less)
I
am the father of four: Ward Partick (age 30) who was married in April 2008 and
is an attorney in Washington, DC; Michael (age 27) who is a corporate broker in
Tampa and is getting married in Feb. 2009; Katie (age 22) wo lives in St. Pete
and is a recent graduate from the University of South Florida ( GO BULLS!); and
Christina who is in heaven.
I
am happily married to Kathy Gilbert Griffin ( 33 years) who is the Associate
Provost at St. Petersburg College, Clearwater Campus. I retired from the
Florida Dept of Corrections two years ago after 32 years serving in Probation
and Parole. After working as the Circuit Administrator for Pinellas and Pasco
Counties, I find retirement terrific!! Instead of the previous Monday through
Sunday (7 days) week, I now enjoy two days a week; one Sunday followed by SIX
Saturdays. I love retirement and my renewed passion is cycling. A typical trip
will be 20 - 60 miles and I try to hit the trail four times a week.
I
love the USF BULLS and attend every home football game and most home basketball
games. My son Mike and I tailgate before every home game and invite you to
stop by our tent for a brew.
My
personal philosophy is to enjoy every day to the fullest. I am a cancer
survivor (melanoma - Stage III) from 2000 and I appreciate my present good
health, my wonderful family, my strong faith in God, and this wonderful stage
in my life.
As
a 1968 graduate of LHS, I have stayed in the Tampa Bay area and still have
remained good friends with many of my high school class and am looking forward
to this reunion weekend.
Take
care, be safe, and enjoy every minute of life.

My Life Since Graduation
Tell us about yourself in 3300 words or
less. Please attach photos with your profile.
My
life since graduation would take a lot more than 3300 words… so how about the
last 20 years! I married my high school sweetheart, Jim Hosch, (Largo Class of
’65) on Valentine’s Day, 1984, in Las Vegas. Really! Jim is a Pharmacist and
I work front office in a local doctor’s office. We have 3 children. We got a
late start re-finding each other and starting a family. (I now know why tigers
eat their young!)
Our
eldest, Christopher, is only 22. He is a Petty Officer in the Navy and just
completed a seven month deployment in the Persian Gulf aboard the USS Harry
Truman. Our son, Clayton “Bo”, is 20 and a full time student at St. Pete
College majoring in Business and applying to the ROTC for the Army. Our
daughter, Nina, the baby in the family, just turned 19 at Navy boot camp in
Great Lakes, Illinois. Nina was adopted from Bolivia when she was 3 months old
and because I in no way contributed to her genetic makeup can honestly say she
is a beautiful young woman!
Up
until last year I was very involved in Boy Scouts. Both of my sons are Eagle
Scouts. I was a Den Mother in Cub Scouts, an Assistant Scoutmaster in Boy
Scouts, and an advisor to the Venture Crew. Even my daughter is a Boy Scout.
(Girls can join co-ed Venture Crews at 15 years of age).
I’ve
done it all…camping, climbing and rappelling, white water rafting, canoeing,
and scuba diving. Having these kids late in life has kept me young…or maybe it
is driving me to an early grave…I can’t decide which!
We
have one granddaughter, Kalisa, who is 4 and keeps me very busy, as I have her
every Friday. She is the joy of my life and my reward for not “eating my
young” as aforementioned! She loves learning a new word every week. I
recently taught her a really great one. She now tells everyone that her Ya-Ya
is omnipotent! So true!
Every
Sunday, I play cards with my dad, who is 86. We are playing for my inheritance
and he always wins…I think he cheats! Sadly, I lost my mom about 10 years
ago. I still miss her to this day. My bother, Kenny, and sister, Laura, still
live locally, so nieces and nephews see a lot of each other.
We
love to travel when time and money allows. Lobster season in the Keys in
August is a must! We belong to a “Gourmet Club”, a good excuse to get together
with friends and eat and drink. In my spare time (that’s a laugh!); I consult
with the “Pampered Chef”. If anyone would like to see our catalog, I have a
webpage; I’m in the 21st century: pamperedchef.biz/firecracker.com.
Look me up!

My Life Since Graduation

Greetings to all:
Doing this reminds me of the old Simon & Garfunkel (Mrs.
Robinson) song line “We’d like to know a little bit more about you for our
files…”
Overall, I am a happy guy! Like many of us, left high school
with no clear ideas of what and where I wanted to go. I did the obligatory
thing and went to college. First, St. Pete JC (now St. Petersburg College),
then University of South Florida for a degree in Business, and then an MBA.
Knocked around for a few years working for the government and in the retail
industry. None of which were exactly soul-satisfying experiences.
In 1976, I made one of three life-altering decisions that in
retrospect set the course of my existence. In November of that year I opened
my first company in St. Petersburg, Accent Awnings. We have evolved into
several different entities. Broadly speaking, we design, manufacture and
deliver canvas awning and industrial fabric products for home and industry. Sounds mundane, but some
of my dearest and most significant friends can be found among my peers in this
industry. I love what I do and the people I deal with.
In 1985, after a prolonged search, I married the most
wonderful woman in the world. In January, 1985, I convinced the lovely Louise
Ann Fasano to be my bride. Smartest thing I have ever done. We mesh in
outlook, deed, and have just enough differences to make things interesting and
renewing. Our blessed union has resulted in two wonderful daughters. Tracy,
at this time, is a sophomore at the University of Florida, majoring in chemical
engineering. She was Valedictorian of her class at Countryside High School in
Clearwater. She clearly got her academic skills from her mom! Shelby is my
artistic one. She is a senior at Countryside High School and is President of
the Marching Band and the Interact Club. They are both active, bright (4.0+)
and engaged kids. These three ladies enrich me beyond my dreams.
In 2005, I made the decision to undergo weight loss surgery.
Bad habits, no exercise, and poor lifestyle choices resulted in my severe
obesity. No one’s fault but my own. Over the years my weight fluctuated up
and down 125 lbs. or more. I had a lap-band procedure done to regulate my food
intake and rate of absorption. I am thankfully a success story, well outside the
positive side of the norm. I have lost about 175 lbs. and have maintained it
for several years. It has been a life-transforming experience. I walk 4 to 5
miles a day and can do things I have not doe in 25 years.
My interests include politics, auctions, writing, investing
and motorcycle touring. I live now in Clearwater.

Tell us about yourself (in 3300 words or
less)
I graduated from SPJC
then headed for USF and found myself on course to be a high school music
teacher, which wasn't what I personally wanted to do, so I left college after 3
years and started traveling with a gospel quartet. That led me to record 12
albums (didn't know what CD's or iPods were back then) travel to 36 of the
continental US and 7 countries. I married Karen Eastwood, who graduated frrom
LHS in 1969, and we had 2 children. When the kids got to 2nd grade
and Kindergarten respectively, and began hiding my suitcases and missing dad
too much, I left the road and became an associate minister at 1st Christian church in Dodge City, Ks. From there it was ministries in Georgia and
Indiana.
The
big life changer for me was Nov. 15, 2001 when Karen suddenly died of a brain
aneurysm. After over 30 years of marriage and all we lived through together, I
guess a part of me died as well. Had it not been for God and His promises, and
so many friends who gave support and just loved me, (We need each other) I
would probably be sitting at Indian Rocks beach with my butt on the sand and my
feet in the Gulf asking people if they could spare some change. Maybe holding a
sign that read, "I'll sing for food".
Next
came 2 failed ministries and my failure to come out of my emotional cave which
led to a failed relationship, and I wound up selling Toyotas in Tampa. (How can
you trust the combination of a car salesman and a preacher?) If the story ended
there, I'd win the "Most Pathetic" award and believe it or not, I was
voted "Most Likely to Succeed" in high school.
God
wasn't finished with me yet. I came back to Indianapolis, started a church in
an old furniture store/lumber yard building, and today I'm the senior minister
in a thriving little church called the Salvage Yard, (we don't sell car parts)
loving all kinds of people and helping as many as we can. I married a wonderful
Christian woman in 2007 who actually loves me. (That still amazes me) We have 4
kids and 6 grandkids. (We doubled down) What a joy! Now… I play football, kill
the guy with the ball, hide and seek. I color, play video games, throw kids in
the air and watch cartoon movies. (I can't decide whether Flushed Away, Over
the Hedge, or Ratatouille is my favorite. I like Robots, too. )
I
am blessed. I've made mistakes. I still need to grow. If you need an ear or
support, contact me. It would make my day.

Tell us about yourself (in 3300 words or

After graduation from
Largo I attended Florida State University and earned a degree in Fashion
Merchandising in June 1972, Scott & I were married in September of 1972
and lived for a short while in St.Petersburg. Scott was finishing his second
two years in the U.S.Coast Guard when we were transferred to Miami. I worked
for 30+ years in the retail department store business mostly for Maas Brothers,
Jordan Marsh and Burdines. We ended up here in Gainesville over 25 years ago
and have stayed ever since. I now work for RBC Bank as a teller supervisor.
Scott & I just celebrated our 36th anniversary on September 1st. We have
two grown children. Trisha is 27, married and works as a Pediatric Intensive
Care nurse at Shands at UF here in Gainesville. Bradley is about to turn 24
and works in the welding and fabrication business in the area. We enjoy
spending time with our friends riding our motorcycle. We travel all around the
southeast and average about 12000 miles a year on our 2002 Honda Goldwing. We
hope to retire to the mountains of North Carolina or Tennessee in a few years
and enjoy the riding in the mountains. Sorry we could not make the reunion but
we will be thinking of our friends and classmates this weekend.

I became an RN out of high school after graduating from Orange
Regional Medical Center in Orlando. For the next 2 years, I was an Army Nurse
and stayed in the reserves for several years. In 1974, I married Paul N.
Davis, Jr. and moved to Denver, CO. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
and Health Care Management in 1982. We had 2 sons, Paul N. Davis III (Skip) in
1984 and Matthew J. Davis (Matt) in 1988. After several nursing positions,
including 4 years in Home Health, I began my career in the retirement housing
industry where most of my professional experience has occurred.
In
1986, I became an Assisted Living operator and in 1987, was hired as the
Director of Health Services for The Heritage Club of Denver, an
independent/assisted living community. Seven years later, I was promoted to
Executive Director and currently am the Executive Director of Parkplace
retirement Community in Denver. The community is owned by Brookdale Senior
Living. In September 2008, I will be employed by this same company for 21
years.
My
first husband and I divorced in 1998 and he passed away in 2001. In March of
2001, I married Doyle Abrahamson and we have been happily married ever since.
Doyle has a son, Justin, born in 1980. All 3 sons are now out of college, but
still single at this time. Doyle and I have a 2nd home in Estes
Park, CO and hope to retire there at the end of 2009 or 2010.

Can it really be 40 years since we graduated? It
is so hard to believe!
After LHS, I went to UoF for two years as the
first half of my army Nursing scholarship. My next two years of college were
at the UoMD with our clinical experiences at Walter Reed. That was during the
Vietnam era – definitely an intense experience. I met Jim there. After
graduating in 1972, I was assigned at Valley Forge in PA, and then in 1973 I
returned to Walter Reed. Jim and I were married in 1974 and then were assigned
in Europe. It was great to be there then without kids and lots of opportunity
to travel. We returned to San Antonio with Will as a baby and had David a couple
of years later. I stayed in the Army until 1989 when I retired. Along the way
I finished two masters and a doctoral program.
So, after the army, I taught Women’s Health,
worked with the DoD Breast Cancer Research Program, and was president of the
American Social Health Association. I am currently a VP with QIAGEN, a large
German diagnostic company. QIAGEN acquired Digene, a small biotech company
where I was VP, Women’s Health. There is an enormous between a startup biotech
and a large multi-national German company!
Jim and I live in Chapel Hill, NC – a funky
liberal and fun town that ebbs and flows with the predictable academic calendar
each year. It is a great place to live, especially since Will and his wife,
Jessica, live close by. David and his wife, Katie, are also close, so we are
grateful for their proximity. The MOST exciting news is that David and Katie
are expecting a baby in a few weeks and we are hyped for the baby’s arrival.
We have a home on Lake Gaston – about an hour away – and it is a
great escape to the simple life of rural VA. I travel often for work, so these
days I try to avoid airplanes and airports whenever I can. We do make it to FL
regularly, but find it difficult to deal with the heavy traffic, out-of-control
growth, and the replacement of green and trees with concrete, asphalt and
glass. I honestly don’t recognize Largo anymore. It is sad.
I
am looking forward to retirement one of these days, where I hope to get back
into tennis and learn to play golf, travel for fun and, of course, enjoy the
time with family.

five Maine Coon cats our "fur children."
Jim and I have a passion for traveling to beautiful, natural destinations and
absolutely love South Pacific islands, especially Tahiti, Bora Bora, Moorea and

Tell us about yourself (in 3300 words or

After graduation in '68 I
attened the school of Radiologic Technologist at Morton Plant hospital in July
of '68 and I graduated in July of '70. I moved to Cleveland, Ohio where my
husband attended Anethesia school at the Cleveland Clinic. I enjoyed working at
the University on the Case Western Reserve campus. In '76 we moved back to
Florida, but to the east coast to enjoy all the opportunities the Atlantic
ocean had to offer; boating, fishing scuba diving and the close
proxcinity
of the Bahamas for the three day runs. We enjoyed family and friends in our
waterfront home for years until one day our lives went in two different
directions. I returned to my xray profession until I met my second husband and
also became a Real Estate broker & mortgage broker. We worked for years
building our mortgage company here in Palm Beach County. After our daughter
Dominique was born I took a five year hiatus and loved being a stay at home
Mom. Once she started school I returned to being an xray technologist which
lead to my current position as Director of Womens Services in Wellington at
Wellington Regional's out patient center.
While
my daughter was growning up we enjoyed a number of vacations. We traveled all
over the United States. Snow sking in Colorado was our first love. The midwest
(Yellowstone & the Grand Canyon runs a close runner up to the California
coast ( Big Sur). Our most recent cruise along the western Caribian was a real
treat. They Myan ruins on Balize were unforgettable. Alaska will be our
adventure next year. We now have to plan our time away on Dominiques time
schedule now that she is teaching high school Honors Biology. (Anyone remember
MS Puleo our high school bilogy teacher?)
What's
nice about this cycle of life is I get to relive the 1st job, 1st new car, 1st home all vicaresly thru my daughter. Maybe soon we will
plan a wedding together.
I
have always been an arts and crafts kind of gal and have a number of close
friends thru the years. I have developed the ability to quilt over the past 10
years, even to the point of having a quilt room here in the house and it’s a
wonderful place to go into & enjoy creating. I've discovered a love for
stain glass pieces and I think that that's another avenue of quilting too. When
I retire I hope it will be to a wonderful bed & breakfast small town USA
kind of world, so I can enjoy my passions for gardening and quilting and all my
friends & family in my home anytime. Speeking of family I am lucky to
still have my mother living with me and all three of my brothers & their
family's are in good health & enjoying life.
The
best to all of my classmates. Hoping you too have found love & tue happiness
& will be in good health a long time.
Always

I married young and only finished a year of college. My
husband and I established a business in the aircraft industry, got caught up in
the yuppie rat race, invested in properties, diversified by purchasing other
businesses, traveled for business and pleasure throughout the US and Europe,
always with our two beautiful, talented daughters, Julie and Ally.
During
the 80’s, I also owned two antique stores, one in downtown Clearwater, the
other in Mountain Brook, AL, and imported European antiques, mostly rustic
German because of our connections there in the aircraft industry. Our life was
exciting, though hectic to the point of total exhaustion. The price was our
marriage. But the most wonderful outcome was our children.
I
returned to school at U of AL at Birmingham in 1995, earned a BS in psychology
and biology with a behavioral neuroscience emphasis while my daughters were in
college at Birmingham Southern (Julie / BA Business and finishing her MBA this
summer) and Sewanee (Ally / BA Natural Science – Geology). I enjoyed school so
much that I continued on to earn my MS in Vision Science (physiological optics/color
vision research). Graduated at the age of 48, unsure about what to do with the
degrees and the next phase of life! Different set of challenges starting over
at that age, never boring though.
I
did enjoy the fact that I could relate a little better to my daughters and the
challenges they faced in college. Since I had never finished while I was
young, this was an opportunity for me to close that circle and at the same
time, develop some closer ties with my girls.
I
guess it’s obvious that I thoroughly enjoy my relationships with my children
and granddaughters. Julie and Scott have two daughters, Ashley and Sayre.
What a joy it is being a grandmother!!
And
now, for the first time in years, I live in the same town with all of my
children. Ally moved to Denver in April making me the happiest mom ever.
I’m
currently a financial specialist at a Colorado credit union, though I admit I
am trying to return to my favorite work, teaching. I taught psychology and
biology at a community college for a while after I graduated and enjoyed my
work very much. Hopefully I’ll be able to return to it soon.
Other
than spending time with family, I love communicating with all of you via email,
gardening, reading, and exploring Colorado with my dog, Ray. Life is truly
good!

Tell us about yourself (in 3300 words or
less)
As background, our family
had lived aboard and arrived in Florida on a 42 foot sailboat. I am a water
person, sailing, surfing, diving and just knocking about the water.
I graduated from the University of West Florida
in computer science. I was on the varsity sailing team and competed in local,
regional and national regattas wining many events. My first computer programming job was in
Tallahassee with state government. I moved to better jobs and
more money ending up in Albany NY and here I learned to snow ski and just
loved it. I became a ski bum and moved to Oregon working minor jobs.
I moved to Chicago and took a computer
programming job and started to re-learn my profession. I started serious
sailing again, racing big and small boats. I excelled in my profession and
started my own consulting company SRCC Ltd. I excelled in sailing becoming
district level champion and doing offshore work in big boats (Mackinaw Island
races).
As a side interest I started up Lake Michigan
Yacht Sales where I sold cruising sailboat from 35 to 45 feet long. With
success came a longing again for sailing adventures which I had known in my
childhood. I kept my demo 35 footer and left Chicago aboard my boat. I sailed
the Great Lakes, St. Lawrence Seaway, and Canadian Martine. I made Boston my
home working in IT while I built up my “sailing kitty”.
My sailing adventures took me from Bermuda to
Trinidad sailing the many islands of West Indies catching fish, lobsters, conch
while drinking rum and cokes. When my sailing kitty got low or I tired of
island life I would sail into Washington DC and dock my boat downtown finding
IT consulting jobs. In 1991 I had the misfortune of being caught near hurricane
Grace which became a component of the Perfect Storm. I encountered 35 to 40
foot waves and I feared for my life for three days.
After 10 years of living aboard, I became
“normal” and moved to land, sold my beloved sailboat. In DC I continued IT
consulting and raced big and small boats winning many trophies. On 9/11, I was
four blocks from the Pentagon and I have never felt comfortable in DC after
that time. My attention had also turned to my mother who had health problems and
without my intervention, she would have passed away.
Having been successful in my profession but tired
of the DC rat race, I left the area retired. My mother is widowed, her health and well
being worried me, so we moved in together and I now help her. We live in
Paducah Kentucky. I keep busy with web work, small projects and
volunteering for the Red Cross.
But my adventures are not over just yet. I
purchased a used sailboat and I am in the process of rebuilding and fitting her
out. I am also racing my boat and I am wining races. My boating project can
be found at www.sturobinson.com/Rendova. I know I will be back cruising and
living aboard my boat.
My disappointment is in that I have
been married and divorced with no children to my college sweetheart and later
to my Chicago love. I remain faithful to my childhood’s first love, the water,
the sailing.

Thanks to God our lives are full and we are blessed in many
ways.
My husband, Rod, and I have been retired since 2006 and are really enjoying
this phase of our lives. After our children, Megan and Jason, graduated
from college and moved to other states, we spent many extra hours working,
resulting in an award for Rod from the Florida Law Related Education
Association and me being named High School Assistant Principal of the Year in
2005. However, I think our lives are in better balance now, since we get
to spend more time with family and friends. And, as many of you also know
.... being a grandparent really IS terrific!
Since we enjoy traveling both abroad and in the US, we took a transatlantic
cruise from London to Boston to celebrate retirement. Some recent
trips include an Alaskan cruise, a tour of Scotland and a Mediterranean cruise
- each with most of my family, a week in London with Karen (my sister) and Mike
McLead, a long weekend in St. Augustine, several visits to New York, and a week
in the San Francisco area with Megan and Jason and their spouses. Of
course, we visit Megan; her husband, Stan; and the grandchildren in South
Carolina frequently and we enjoy going to Baltimore to see Jason and his wife,
Kate. Our next trip will be to Copenhagen, followed by a Baltic cruise,
with Jason and Kate.
Since retirement we bought bicycles (for leisurely riding) and we get to read,
read, read!! Rod and I also enjoy going to the movies and to Rays
baseball games and we have season tickets to the Tampa Bay Performing Arts
Center and to the Florida Orchestra. We both volunteer for some of the
schools by chaperoning field trips and being guest speakers and I even serve on
the School Advisory Committee for Largo High. I am president of a local
chapter of an educational organization called Delta Kappa Gamma
Society International and am secretary of our homeowners' association.
All of this keeps us pretty busy and very happy. I look forward to seeing
all of you at our LHS reunions.

Tell us about yourself (in 3300 words or
less)
40 years, where HAS the
time gone? What milestones we all have crossed since 1968. Oh Well here goes:
Personal:
I was married to Ralph Nelson (class of 1967) for 8.5 years then to Ronald
Korcsmaros for 21 years. I am currently on my own again and living in the
Trinity area just north of Tarpon Springs. The community is called Heritage Springs
and is an over 55 gated community. It is a great place to retire as it has
everything I need and I am close enough to my family to stop off after work or
visit on the weekends. I am lucky to have been able to stay close to my step
daughter and her family so I do get to do the Grandma thing with Ron's
grandson, Montana who is 8. I am very close to my brother and sisters and
their families so all of my neices, nephews and great neices and nephews keep
me busy.
Work.
I just celebrated my 40 year anniversary with Bank of America. Well there were
just a few ( ya right, just a few) mergers along the way. I was assigned many
different positions within the bank on the operations side, so do not ask me
about lending and mortgages as it is greek to me. I currently on a team that
supports the Cash Vault application for the entire franchise, which has meant a
lot of travel across the United States in prior years. Now I am able to work
from home quite a few days of the week which I just love.
Travel:
On of my passions, for the last 10 years I have done a lot of vacation travel.
One year I travel with my banking girlfriends and the other with family. I
really enjoyed three of my recent vacations that Judy and I were both able to
be on together. One was a two week 5 city stop through Italy with my banking
friends that Judy was able to come with me. A two week jaunt to Hawaii was
another and the best one was a 10 day Rhine River Cruise on a small boat
stopping at all the Christmas Market places that just Judy and I went on this
past December. I am leaving on a 17 day Greek Island Cruise the week after the
reunion with my girlfriends that I am also looking forward to.
Misc.
Info: I was very proud to have been involved in the 2007 - 3 day 60 mile
Breast Cancer Walk last October. One of my team mates was diagonosted late in
2006 with the disease so I got my team mates in 8 states to fly down to Tampa
to do the walk for her. We had a terrific team bonding adventure and I only
lost 4 toe nails. My family was there for me every step of the way. My sister
Carol and her husband Ken with other family members though out the days were
there at 6:00am for opening ceremonies, until we stopped for the closing
ceremony. Mike joined them for two days and Judy for one. They all wore pink
shirts and cheered me and my team. What a wonderful expereince.

Tell us about yourself (in 3300 words or
less)
It is hard to believe 40
years! I will hit the highlights.
Personal: I married Benjamin Wiant (Bingo – class
of 67) in August of 1969 and we just celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary.
We have two sons, Ben Jr. 33, who lives and works for the Internal Revenue in
Tallahassee, FL and Byron 24, who lives with us and substitute teaches.
(Neither son is or has been married, nor do we have any grandkids as yet). We
have lived in Winter Park, FL for the last 26 years where Ben works as an
engineer at Siemens, and I have been working for the last 10 years for Seminole
County Public Schools. Up until June, I was the Character Education Liaison at
the district office. In August, I started a new position as the Program
Coordinator for the Student Museum in Sanford, FL. I am now in charge of the
oldest school (1902) in the area. We do field trips for 4th grade students and
are open to the community. I am having a lot of fun learning how Floridians
lived at the turn of the last century.
Travel: For the last 5 years, Ben and I have
been driving out west – mostly the southeast part of Utah for a month every
summer. We love it. We take Ben’s dirt bike and he and his brother in law are
able to access hard to get to ruins, while we girls take the trucks out to see
what we can see. Each trip out, we take a different route. One trip, a northern
route going through Yellowstone/Mt. Rushmore, last year we detoured to Las
Vegas. Joyce and I have found that we make great traveling buddies. We
experienced a great trip to Italy several years ago and last year took a river
boat trip up the Rhine for the Christmas Market tour! It was definitely a
highlight. The four of us Wiant’s and members of the Schmidt family (Joyce
included) had a great trip to Hawaii 3 years ago (6 weeks after I had a hip
replaced). Maui is a great place to recuperate. Ben spent 2 years working on
Maui some years back and we feel the need to go back every so often. We have
hit all the main Islands by now.
Interests: Last year Ben bought me a 4 wheel ATV
and we have been looking for places to ride. In April, my youngest sister,
Carol (who has several ATVs) and her husband Ken (who has a dirt bike) and Ben
and I found a great place near Atlanta, GA. We spent 3 days riding ATVs and
dirt bikes in a forested area and had a great time. Somethings never change. I
was a joiner in high school and still am as an adult. This year I am the
Seminole County Council of PTAs President. We have over 60 schools in Seminole
County and it really keeps me busy. As the SCCPTA president, I am placed on
numerous county wide committees including the Foundation for Seminole County
Schools. For the last two years Joyce has even joined me in working on one of
the Foundations biggest events Arts Alive.

After graduation I
attended SPJC and USF. In 1975 I married classmate Bruce Carlson. Bruce and I
have two sons, ages 28 and 23. We moved from Largo to Greenville, SC to
Atlanta, to Jacksonville, FL and finally landed in Columbia, SC. I worked as
a CPA in my own practice and in several industries. In 2001 I entered Lutheran
Theological Southern Seminary, graduating with an MDiv in 2005. I met and
married my current husband, David in 2002. David has been a commercial
photographer in Greenville SC for over 25 years - Crosby Stills. Hence, the
move to Greenville after graduation from seminary. I am currently pastor of
Christ the King Lutheran Church where I was ordained in 2005. Our most recent
venture/adventure was opening a restaurant adjacent to David's studio in 2007
- Snapshot Café and Art Bar. We have been avid Vespa riders for the past four
years until we totalled them in an accident in May (still recovering.) We now
enjoy life a bit more safely and sedately!

Tell us about yourself (in 3300 words or
less)
I got married right after
graduating high school. We were married for 18 years and had two children -
Kevin born in 1970 and Karlena in 1977. I worked at the Pinellas County
School Board until 1970 and then I became a "homemaker". We lived
in Pinellas County until 1978 when we moved to what we thought was the country,
Inverness, Fla. (well we did have a pig named Susie). After a few years I
became a Beauty Consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics and that was when my life as
I knew it changed. It was this experience (at age 30) that I realized I was my
own person. All of a sudden I had self-worth, self-esteem, I became
independent. In 1984, I got a job as Assistant to the Director of the Koala
Center (a drug & rehab center) in Bushnell, Fla. where I met my soul mate
Tom, who was working there as a Counselor. We married in 1990 and moved to
Thomasville, Ga. and presently living on a few acres in the country (no pigs)
where we bought an older home and constantly remodeling. I am the Director of
Medical Staff Services with John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital, Inc. (which
means I direct and oversee our physicians at 5 hospitals & 4 nursing
homes). It is a stressful but very fulfilling job. It also has given me the
opportunity to travel extensively over the US.
My husband, Tom, retired from the Army in 2003
but while he was active I had the chance to fly on a C130 military aircraft and
watch as the tailgate came down and my husband and other soldiers (US Army
paratroopers) jumped into the waters of Key West. (I got sick and ended up with
my head in the Sergeant Major's lap). I also had the opportunity in 2002 to
visit him when he was stationed in Germany for Operation Enduring Freedom. It
was beautiful and a wonderful experience until I broke my leg as I was snow
sledding down the 'kiddie slope' in the Alps. The German Doc's gave me a
plaster cast that went up to my hip and put me on the plane back to the US.
(what an experience - only now can I laugh)
My son Kevin passed in 1989
My daughter, Karlena married in 2004 and made me
a grandma (MaMia) in 2006. I have been blessed with a beautiful grandson
(Gavyn) who I'm sure will keep my body and heart young.
Things I Enjoy:
Family Times
Mountain trips (a tradition of ours every
December)
RV camping with our two dogs
My husband and a cup of good coffee on the back
porch
Coming back home visits - I miss the beach!
Shopping /Reading/ Walking/ Remodeling/decorating
our home
Playing in the dirt (my flower garden)
My new hobby - scrapbooking
My
favorite is playing with (Gavyn) my grandson

After high school I attended and graduated from St Petersburg Jr.
College. Tim Gallenstein and I took a road trip to California, where I stayed
to finish college at Valley State College in Northridge. During this time I
met the love of my life, Lynn. We were married in May of 1971. I continued
college for a while, but did not graduate because of working full time to
support my family. We moved back to Florida in 1972, bought property near
Brooksville and started our family of Jason, Nicole and Rachel. In 1978, I
accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior, which started the new life that my wife
and I continue in today. In 1981, because of illness in my wife’s family, we
moved to Hemet, California where I started working for Eastern Municipal Water
District. Nineteen and a half years later I took early retirement, went back
to evening college, and received a B.S. in psychology. Starting in 2002, I
began working on an M.S. in counseling psychology which, in 2004, I received.
During this time, til the present, I have been doing my internship at
California Baptist University at the counseling center. I now have the 3000+
hours to take the state exam to be a Marriage Family Therapist. We have three
grown children, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a miniature
long-haired Dachshund (Coco).

I have been a resident of Inverness, FL since 1985 and
have been teaching at Brooksville Elementary School for the last 20 years. A
few years ago I was honored with being selected as our Teacher of the Year. In
2004, I accompanied 15 other teachers from around the nation to travel to China
as part of the Fulbright-Hays organization. What a life –changing journey!
In 2006, I accompanied other volunteers from
around the world to be part of the Jimmy Carter International Build for Habitat
for Humanity in Lonavala, India. It was like attending the Olympics with different languages
being spoken. Education is revered there!
The highlights of my life are my 2 beautiful
daughters and granddaughter. My daughter, Kimberly, and her husband, Carl, are
the proud parents of my beautiful granddaughter, Olivia. She is the light of my
life and keeps me busy! Kimberly is an attorney with the Pasco State Attorney’s
office.
My younger daughter, Kelly, and her husband,
Alexis, are resident of the Upper East Side in New York City. She is a guidance counselor in a magnet
middle school for writing and the arts in Chelsea. She is surrounded by culture and I am SO
jealous! I visit her often.
Good wishes to everyone and may you have peace
and good health in your lives!
Kathy

Tell us about yourself (in 3300 words or

I am retired military and
my second carreer is chasing disasters for the Florida Division of Emergency
Management, so I guess I am an action junkie! We have been married for 36
years and have two sons that we can't keep married long enough to give us grandchildren.
Merrilee
and I also invest in real estate and we keep busy with our tenants, which are
kinda like grandchildren!. We plan on working until we have a few more of our
properties paid off, or when the real estate market improves, sell everything and
play more golf and travel! We enjoy traveling and always looking for a reason
to visit our youngest son, who is a Playboy and lives in Hawaii.
Merrilee
and I both work in emergency management and it is fun attending conferences
together and working on the same disasters, which gives us something crazy to
talk about after work. I have done a lot of interesting things in emergency
management. I have run the gamut from driving around in hurricanes with two
wheels off the road to teaching agency heads at Cape Canaveral the Incident
Command System for managing large disasters. In exchange for my teaching, I
got the VIP tour of the Cape and sat in the Captain's chair of the
Discovery. Shoot me an email for great pictures
Our
goal is to have fun and continue working as long as we are enjoying ourselves
and working at staying healthy. Merrilee has us on this crazy diet that
includes fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, fish and NO sweets! Really not sure
how healthy I want to be! We are really sorry that we could not attend the
last reunion, but plan on being at the next one.
Take
care and may God continue to bless you and your families.

& Merrilee White
